My name as you have seen is Tanya Long (nee Kalil)… I live in Johannesburg, South Africa.  My favorite people in my world are my daughter, my inspirational mother and 2 terrorist cocker spaniels. My work as COO of the Argility Technology Group, keeps me challenged and out of mischief [mostly ;)]. I am an ICF Accredited Consciousness Coach with over 500 hours of coaching experience (specializing in business and performance coaching).  I am also an Accredited Enneagram Coach, with a passion for potential specifically in the areas of Personal Mastery, Employee Engagement,Leadership, Management and Benefits Realisation.

This blog is my personal foray into writing, something that I have started to do recently, which really fills up my gas tank….

I have a passion for people, potential, being out of the comfort zone, champagne, long walks with my gorgeous dogs, family, coaching, travel, inspiring and serving others, personal growth, living consciously and…… let me not bore you with a never ending list…

I spent far too many years working in a highly stressful IT environment, managing people and performance – doing some things right, and some things not so right, the learnings’ may show up in some of my writing.  Other articles may be inspired by my coaching and further ones may just be #becauseIcan.

Albert Einstein once said – “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended upon the solution, I would spend 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask. For once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than 5 minutes”.

Makes you think, doesn’t it?  One morning, which feels like a lifetime ago, this quote resonated so deeply with me that I decided I needed to rethink my purpose in life and do something different.  I was officially stuck, on the verge of a breakdown (or maybe in the middle of one – who knows?)  and just not having much fun.

Since that day, my life has taken a turn that I would never have imagined!  I found my reason to get up each day, and the days are now like a rich adventure (let me not mislead you, not all days are rainbows and roses) – but there’s a flow which I never dreamed I would experience. For a while I spent my my days coaching, facilitating engagement and leadership programs and consulting to businesses who want to be at the top of their game.  Recently though I have continued with the above but also had the privilege of returning to that ‘highly stressful IT environment’. The difference being that I’ve been able to bring all my learnings and new experiences with me.  I do have a different perspective and it has made a truly positive impact on both myself and those whom I work with.

Lastly, I believe that one should be the change that we wish to see in the world and I volunteer with 2 inspiring NPOs: Ikageng and Releasing Eagles Mentoring Program for Young Women   After all, isn’t that what it’s about? Giving back

Much love and light to you …..
