As she lay there lifeless
Pallid
Expressionless.
Panic gripped my being
Fear clenched my heart.
Incomprehensible!
Her larger than life soul
Halted?
Departed?
Unbelievable!
My eyes scanning frantically
Searching for proof
Of life.
The spirit
That which I know
That which I love and cherish
That which enriches my world.
Not this.
My eyes boring intently
Intensely.
A gasp
An exhale
From afar and from within.
The beautiful soul
Only halted now resurrected.
A smile escapes my lips
Restored.
Exhale.
