As I wrestle with my mind
Trying to conjure up the sweet sound of your voice
The heavens start to cry.
At first, a slow gentle splatter
Progressing with intensity
Till I know not if it is around or within.
The ringing in my ears, a legacy of you
That’s all! That’s all I hear
The constricting ache of my heart
That’s all! That’s all I feel
I remember soon after you left, clinging tightly to the memory of your voice.
No use, it has gone
It was then as it is now
The void of you
That’s all! That’s all I think
Right here, right now, the heavens and universe sorrowfully aligned.
